Yes, you read that correctly. The passenger Takata airbag that my local Chevy dealer replaced a couple years ago apparently may fail to properly deploy.
Pretty neat

So replace death by faceful of
shrapnel with death by faceful of dashboard and windshield. Got it.

My wife has had at least 3 recalls (I think) on her 2010 Corolla. Two of them were for the Takata I believe. iIRC, they replaced the driver's first, and the passenger was a separate recall. You'd think they'd do both at once. Unless they just didn't have the parts.

At some point they knew they were replacing airbags with ones that would need to be replaced again because they didn’t have good replacements. Better to gain a few years than have people driving around with claymores in their cars for the whole time until good replacements could be made .

Heck, oldsmobile.com was still up and running as recently as a few years ago. Gone now though.

Those responsible for the previous recall have been recalled? Sounds like the start of a Monty Python skit.

The bag or inflator in my 03 Odyssey has been replaced three times.
